- Berne is a city located in Adams County, Indiana, United States. It was settled in 1852 by Mennonite immigrants who came directly from Switzerland, and named after the capital of Switzerland, Berne. The city is known for its Swiss heritage and architecture.

- As of the 2010 census, there were 3,999 people, 1,746 households, and 1,023 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,135.0 inhabitants per square mile. There were 1,952 housing units at an average density of 554.2 per square mile.
