Bill Blass
Bill Blass (June 22, 1922 – June 12, 2002) was an American fashion designer known for his elegant and sophisticated designs. He was a prominent figure in the fashion industry and made significant contributions to American fashion.

Bill Blass was born William Ralph Blass in Fort Wayne, Indiana. From a young age, he showed an interest in fashion and design. He attended South Side High School and later moved to New York City to pursue his passion for fashion.

Blass began his career in fashion by working for various fashion houses. In 1959, he joined the fashion house of Maurice Rentner, which he eventually took over and renamed Bill Blass Limited in 1970. His designs were known for their clean lines, luxurious fabrics, and impeccable tailoring. Blass was also known for his ability to blend classic American style with European sophistication.
Throughout his career, Blass received numerous awards and accolades, including the Cotton Council Fashion Award, the Coty American Fashion Critics' Award, and the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Lifetime Achievement Award.
