Biscuitville
Biscuitville is a privately held regional fast-food restaurant chain consisting of 55 locations in the U.S. states of North Carolina and Virginia. The restaurants specialize in breakfast food and Southern cuisine. All Biscuitville restaurants are located in North Carolina or Virginia. They are known for their Southern-style biscuits and other breakfast foods.
History[edit | edit source]
Biscuitville began in 1966 as two bread stores, named "Mountainbrook Fresh Bread & Milk" and "Pizzaville," in Burlington, North Carolina. The owner, Maurice Jennings, started selling biscuits out of the bread store in 1972. The biscuit business became so successful that Jennings decided to convert both bread stores into biscuit-only restaurants, and by 1975, the company had changed its name to Biscuitville.
Menu[edit | edit source]
Biscuitville's menu primarily consists of breakfast items, most notably their biscuit sandwiches. These sandwiches are made with a variety of ingredients, including country ham, sausage, steak, chicken, eggs, and cheese. In addition to their biscuit sandwiches, Biscuitville also offers sweet treats like honey buns and muffins, as well as sides like grits, hashbrowns, and oatmeal.
Business Model[edit | edit source]
Biscuitville operates on a fast-casual dining model. Customers order at the counter, and food is prepared fresh for each order. Biscuitville prides itself on its use of locally sourced ingredients, including flour from a local milling company and eggs from cage-free hens. Biscuitville restaurants are only open for breakfast and lunch, closing at 2 p.m. each day.
