Black Magic (chocolates)
Black Magic is a brand of chocolate produced by Nestlé. The brand was first introduced in the United Kingdom in 1933, and has since become a popular choice for gift-giving and special occasions.
History[edit | edit source]
The Black Magic brand was launched by Rowntree's, a confectionery company based in York, England. The name "Black Magic" was chosen to convey a sense of mystery and luxury. The original packaging was a black box decorated with a simple white line drawing, a design that has remained largely unchanged over the years.
In 1988, Rowntree's was acquired by Nestlé, and Black Magic became part of the Swiss company's portfolio of chocolate brands.
Product Range[edit | edit source]
Black Magic chocolates come in a variety of assortments, each containing a selection of different flavours. The original assortment included coffee, nut, fruit and caramel chocolates. Over the years, new flavours have been introduced and some of the original ones have been discontinued.
The Black Magic product range also includes special editions for holidays such as Valentine's Day and Christmas.
Reception[edit | edit source]
Black Magic chocolates have been well received by consumers, and the brand has a loyal following. The chocolates are often associated with nostalgia, as they have been a part of British confectionery tradition for many decades.
