Blue Monkey is a 1987 Canadian science fiction horror film directed by William Fruet. The film stars Steve Railsback, Gwynyth Walsh, and Don Lake. It is also known as Insect in some regions.

The story begins in a small town where a mysterious plant is discovered. When a local farmer is pricked by the plant, he is rushed to the hospital. There, he begins to exhibit strange symptoms, and a giant insect larva is extracted from his body. The larva quickly grows into a monstrous insect, which begins to terrorize the hospital and its patients.
