Bodíky

Bodíky is a small village located in the Trnava Region of Slovakia. It is part of the Senica District and is known for its rich history and cultural heritage. The village is home to a number of historical landmarks, including the Church of St. Michael the Archangel, which dates back to the 13th century.

The first written mention of Bodíky dates back to 1392, when it was referred to as "Bodok". Over the centuries, the village has been under the rule of various noble families, including the Pálffy family and the Esterházy family. During the 19th century, Bodíky was a center of agricultural activity, with a focus on viticulture and fruit growing.

Geography[edit | edit source]

Bodíky is situated in the western part of Slovakia, in the Trnava Region. It is located approximately 15 kilometers from the district capital, Senica. The village is surrounded by rolling hills and fertile plains, making it an ideal location for agriculture.

Demographics[edit | edit source]

As of the 2011 census, Bodíky had a population of 287 inhabitants. The majority of the population is of Slovak ethnicity, with a small minority of Roma and Hungarians.

Landmarks[edit | edit source]

One of the main landmarks in Bodíky is the Church of St. Michael the Archangel. This Roman Catholic church was built in the 13th century and is a fine example of Gothic architecture. Other notable landmarks include the Bodíky Manor House, which dates back to the 18th century, and the local school, which was established in 1908.
