Boni Petcoff
Boni Petcoff (March 9, 1900 – August 5, 1965) was an American football player and coach. He played college football at Ohio State University and later served as the head football coach at Ohio Wesleyan University and Otterbein University.
Early Life and Playing Career[edit | edit source]
Petcoff was born on March 9, 1900, in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Ohio State University, where he played as a halfback for the Buckeyes from 1920 to 1922. During his time at Ohio State, Petcoff was known for his speed and agility on the field.
Coaching Career[edit | edit source]
After graduating from Ohio State, Petcoff began his coaching career. He served as the head football coach at Ohio Wesleyan University from 1923 to 1926. During his tenure, he led the team to several successful seasons.
In 1927, Petcoff took over as the head football coach at Otterbein University. He coached at Otterbein until 1930, where he continued to develop his reputation as a skilled and dedicated coach.
Later Life and Legacy[edit | edit source]
After retiring from coaching, Petcoff remained active in the football community. He passed away on August 5, 1965, in Columbus, Ohio. Petcoff is remembered for his contributions to college football both as a player and a coach.
