Boyd County, Nebraska

Boyd County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,099. Its county seat is Butte. The county was founded in 1891 and named after James E. Boyd, the Governor of Nebraska.

Boyd County is located in the northeastern part of Nebraska, with the Missouri River forming its eastern border. The county's total area is 545 square miles, of which 540 square miles is land and 5.2 square miles is water.

As of the 2010 census, there were 2,099 people, 892 households, and 591 families residing in the county. The population density was 3.9 inhabitants per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 98.7% white, 0.2% black or African American, 0.1% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 0.7% from two or more races. Those of Hispanic or Latino origin made up 1.0% of the population.
