Brașov is a city in Romania and the administrative center of Brașov County. It is located in the central part of the country, in the historical region of Transylvania. Brașov is known for its medieval architecture, vibrant cultural scene, and picturesque setting surrounded by the Carpathian Mountains.

Brașov was founded by the Teutonic Knights in 1211 and was first mentioned in documents in 1252.
