Brian L. Roberts (born June 28, 1959) is an American businessman and the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Comcast Corporation, a global media and technology company. Under his leadership, Comcast has grown from a small cable company into one of the largest media conglomerates in the world.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Brian L. Roberts was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Ralph J. Roberts, the founder of Comcast, and Suzanne Fleisher. He attended the Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania. Roberts went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1981.

Roberts joined Comcast in 1981, shortly after graduating from college. He started his career in the company by working in various capacities, gaining experience in different aspects of the business. In 1990, he was named president of Comcast Corporation, and in 2002, he became the CEO.
Under Roberts' leadership, Comcast has expanded significantly through strategic acquisitions and investments. Notable acquisitions include NBCUniversal in 2011, which transformed Comcast into a major player in the entertainment industry. Roberts has been instrumental in Comcast's growth in broadband internet services, cable television, and telecommunications.
