Brian Roberts (baseball)
Brian Michael Roberts (born October 9, 1977) is a former Major League Baseball (MLB) second baseman. He played the majority of his career with the Baltimore Orioles and also had a brief stint with the New York Yankees.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Roberts was born in Durham, North Carolina. He attended Chapel Hill High School where he excelled in baseball. After high school, he attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and played for the Tar Heels.
Professional Career[edit | edit source]
Baltimore Orioles[edit | edit source]
Roberts was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round of the 1999 Major League Baseball draft. He made his MLB debut on June 14, 2001. Roberts quickly established himself as a key player for the Orioles, known for his speed and ability to get on base. He was a two-time All-Star in 2005 and 2007.
New York Yankees[edit | edit source]
In 2014, Roberts signed a one-year contract with the New York Yankees. He played 91 games for the Yankees before being released in August of the same year.

After retiring from professional baseball, Roberts has worked as a broadcaster for the Baltimore Orioles and has been involved in various business ventures.
