Brown County is a county located in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 9,738. Its county seat and most populous city is Hiawatha. The county was named in honor of two members of the Kansas Territorial Legislature, Albert G. and Andrew J. Brown.
