CBM (formerly known as Christian Blind Mission) is an international Christian organization committed to improving the quality of life of people with disabilities in the poorest communities of the world. Based on Christian values, CBM addresses disability as a cause and consequence of poverty and works in partnership with local and national organizations to create an inclusive society for all.

History

CBM was founded in 1908 by Ernst Jakob Christoffel, a German Christian missionary, in Turkey. Initially focused on providing education and rehabilitation for blind children, the organization has since expanded its services to include a wide range of programs aimed at preventing and treating blindness, as well as supporting people with other disabilities. Over the years, CBM has grown into a global organization, operating in over 60 countries and reaching millions of people worldwide.
