CRL-40,940
CRL-40,940 (also known as Flmodafinil, Lauflumide or Bisfluoromodafinil) is a nootropic and eugeroic that is considered to be a derivative of Modafinil. It is believed to promote wakefulness and some studies suggest it may improve cognitive function. However, it is not currently approved for use by any health authority.
History[edit | edit source]
CRL-40,940 was first developed by the company Cephalon Inc., which is also known for developing Modafinil. The compound is a bisfluoro analog of Modafinil and is considered to be potentially more potent.
Pharmacology[edit | edit source]
The exact mechanism of action of CRL-40,940 is not fully understood. It is believed to work by inhibiting the reuptake of dopamine, thereby increasing the amount of dopamine available in the brain. This is similar to the mechanism of action of Modafinil, although CRL-40,940 is thought to have a stronger effect.
Uses[edit | edit source]
While CRL-40,940 is not approved for any medical uses, it is often used off-label as a nootropic. Some users report improved focus, memory, and motivation. However, these effects have not been scientifically proven and the safety and efficacy of CRL-40,940 for these uses is not known.
Side Effects[edit | edit source]
As with any drug, CRL-40,940 may have side effects. These can include insomnia, headache, nausea, and nervousness. More serious side effects may include increased heart rate and blood pressure.
Legal Status[edit | edit source]
The legal status of CRL-40,940 varies by country. In some countries, it is considered a controlled substance and is illegal to buy or sell without a prescription. In other countries, it is legal to buy and sell but is not approved for medical use.
