Cadbury World

Cadbury World is a visitor attraction, featuring a self-guided exhibition tour, created and run by the Cadbury chocolate company. The attraction is located in Bournville, a model village on the south side of Birmingham, England, designed by the Cadbury family for their factory workers in the late 19th century.

History[edit | edit source]

Cadbury World opened on 14 August 1990, on the site of the original Cadbury factory which was established by John Cadbury in 1824. The attraction was conceived and designed to be an educational and entertaining experience dedicated to the history and making of chocolate.

Exhibition[edit | edit source]

The self-guided tour at Cadbury World consists of 14 zones, each covering a different aspect of the history of cocoa and chocolate, the Cadbury story, and the chocolate making process. The zones include the Aztec Jungle, Bull Street, Manufacturing, and the Cadabra ride, among others.

Cadabra Ride[edit | edit source]

The Cadabra ride is a gentle journey through a chocolate wonderland filled with animated Cadbury characters. It is one of the most popular attractions within Cadbury World.

Chocolate Making[edit | edit source]

In the Chocolate Making zone, visitors can watch Cadbury chocolatiers demonstrate traditional chocolate making skills and even sample a pot of melted Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate.

Education[edit | edit source]

Cadbury World also offers educational talks and workshops for school groups, covering a range of topics from the history of chocolate and Cadbury to business studies.

Visitor Facilities[edit | edit source]

Visitor facilities at Cadbury World include the Cadbury Café, the World's Biggest Cadbury Shop, and the African Adventure Play Area for children.
