The winery was established to support the agricultural development of the Yishuv, the Jewish community in Palestine during the late 19th century. The first vineyards were planted in the towns of Rishon LeZion and Zikhron Ya'akov, which remain important centers for the winery's operations.
Vineyards[edit | edit source]
Carmel Winery sources its grapes from various vineyards located in different regions of Israel, including the Upper Galilee, Judean Hills, and the Negev Desert. These diverse terroirs contribute to the unique characteristics of Carmel's wines.
