Carry On Matron is a British comedy film and the twenty-third installment in the popular Carry On series. Released in 1972, the film was directed by Gerald Thomas and produced by Peter Rogers, with a screenplay by Talbot Rothwell. It is set in the fictional "Finisham Maternity Hospital" and parodies the life and work within a British maternity hospital.

The plot of Carry On Matron centers around a gang of thieves who plan to steal a huge stock of birth control pills from a maternity hospital. The gang, led by Sid Carter (Sid James), decides that the best way to accomplish their heist is to infiltrate the hospital. Sid's son, Cyril (Kenneth Cope), is reluctantly dragged into dressing up as a female nurse to gain access to the hospital and locate the pills. Meanwhile, the hospital staff, including the matron (Hattie Jacques), the head of the hospital Sir Bernard Cutting (Kenneth Williams), and the nurse Susan Ball (Barbara Windsor), deal with their personal and professional lives amidst the chaos of the impending theft.
