Cascadian Farms
Cascadian Farm is an American food company that specializes in organic food products. The company was founded in 1972 by Gene Kahn, a graduate of the University of Washington, who was one of the pioneers of the organic farming movement in the United States. Cascadian Farm is currently a subsidiary of General Mills.
History[edit | edit source]
Cascadian Farm was established in the Skagit Valley, Washington, in 1972. The company started as a small, organic farm growing a variety of fruits and vegetables. In the early years, Cascadian Farm faced numerous challenges, including crop failures and financial difficulties. However, the company persevered and gradually expanded its operations.
In 1990, Cascadian Farm was acquired by Welch's, a subsidiary of General Mills. This acquisition allowed Cascadian Farm to expand its product line and reach a wider market. Today, Cascadian Farm offers a wide range of organic products, including cereals, granola bars, frozen fruits and vegetables, and more.
