Castlemaine Perkins was established in 1878 by Nicholas Fitzgerald and Edward Fitzgerald. Originally known as the Milton Brewery, it was later renamed to Castlemaine Perkins Limited in 1889. The brewery quickly gained popularity and became one of the leading beer producers in Australia.
In 1924, Castlemaine Perkins introduced its iconic beer brand, XXXX, which has since become synonymous with Queensland and Australian beer culture. XXXX Bitter, XXXX Gold, XXXX Summer Bright Lager, XXXX Dry, and XXXX Sparkling Ale are some of the popular beers produced by the brewery.
