Genera[edit | edit source]
The Centramoebida includes several genera. These include:
- Acanthamoeba: A genus of amoebae, one of the most common in the soil, and also frequently found in fresh water and other habitats.
- Balamuthia: A genus of amoebae, known for causing a rare and fatal form of amoebic encephalitis known as Balamuthia amoebic encephalitis.
- Protacanthamoeba: A genus of amoebae, known for its acanthopodia.
