Chang Kuo-chou
Taiwanese pharmacist and calligrapher
Chang Kuo-chou (Chinese: 張國周; pinyin: Zhāng Guózhōu ) was a pioneering Taiwanese pharmacist and a renowned calligrapher. He is celebrated for being the first licensed pharmacist in Taiwan and for his contributions to the field of pharmacy and calligraphy.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Chang Kuo-chou was born in Taiwan during the late Qing Dynasty. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in the sciences and the arts, which later influenced his dual career in pharmacy and calligraphy. He pursued his education in pharmacy at a time when Western medicine was beginning to gain prominence in Taiwan.

Chang Kuo-chou became the first licensed pharmacist in Taiwan, a significant milestone in the history of Taiwanese medicine.
