Charles Leclerc
Charles Leclerc (born 16 October 1997) is a Monegasque racing driver currently competing in Formula One for Scuderia Ferrari. Leclerc is known for his exceptional driving skills, strategic acumen, and his role as a prominent figure in the world of motorsport.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Charles Leclerc was born in Monte Carlo, Monaco, to Hervé Leclerc and Pascale Leclerc. He grew up in a family with a strong motorsport background, as his father was a former Formula 3 driver. Leclerc began karting at a young age and quickly demonstrated his talent on the track.
Leclerc attended the Lycée Albert Premier in Monaco, balancing his education with his burgeoning racing career. His early success in karting laid the foundation for his future in professional racing.

Karting[edit | edit source]
Leclerc's karting career began in 2005, and he quickly rose through the ranks. He won the French PACA Championship in 2005, 2006, and 2008. In 2010, he became the French Cadet champion, and in 2011, he won the CIK-FIA KF3 World Cup.
Junior Formulae[edit | edit source]
In 2014, Leclerc transitioned to single-seaters, competing in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps series. He finished second in the championship, showcasing his potential. In 2015, he moved to the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, where he finished fourth overall.
GP3 Series[edit | edit source]
Leclerc joined the GP3 Series in 2016 with ART Grand Prix. He won the championship in his debut season, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in motorsport.
FIA Formula 2 Championship[edit | edit source]
In 2017, Leclerc competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Prema Racing. He dominated the season, winning the championship with seven victories, becoming the first driver to win the championship in their rookie season.

Sauber (2018)[edit | edit source]
Leclerc made his Formula One debut in 2018 with the Sauber team, which was rebranded as Alfa Romeo Racing. He impressed with his performances, consistently outpacing his more experienced teammate and scoring points in several races.
Ferrari (2019–present)[edit | edit source]
In 2019, Leclerc joined Scuderia Ferrari, replacing Kimi Räikkönen. He secured his first Formula One victory at the 2019 Belgian Grand Prix, followed by another win at the Italian Grand Prix. Leclerc finished the season fourth in the drivers' standings.
Leclerc continued with Ferrari in subsequent seasons, becoming a key driver for the team. Despite challenges, he has consistently demonstrated his skill and determination on the track.
