Burger King Specialty Sandwiches
(Redirected from Chicken Royale)
Burger King Specialty Sandwiches are a line of sandwiches developed by the international fast-food restaurant chain Burger King. The sandwiches were first introduced in 1979 and have since become a staple of the Burger King menu, with various iterations and modifications over the years.
History[edit | edit source]
The first Burger King Specialty Sandwich was the Sirloin Steak Sandwich, introduced in 1979. This was followed by the Original Chicken Sandwich and the Fish Sandwich, both introduced in the early 1980s. The introduction of these sandwiches marked a shift in Burger King's menu, moving away from just burgers and fries to a more diverse offering.
Types of Sandwiches[edit | edit source]
There are several types of Burger King Specialty Sandwiches, each with its own unique ingredients and preparation methods.
Sirloin Steak Sandwich[edit | edit source]
The Sirloin Steak Sandwich is made with a 100% sirloin steak patty, topped with onions, lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise, served on a sesame seed bun.
Original Chicken Sandwich[edit | edit source]
The Original Chicken Sandwich features a lightly breaded chicken patty, lettuce, and mayonnaise, served on a sub-style bun.
Fish Sandwich[edit | edit source]
The Fish Sandwich, also known as the Big Fish, is made with a breaded white fish fillet, topped with tartar sauce, pickles, and lettuce, served on a corn-dusted bun.
Reception[edit | edit source]
Burger King Specialty Sandwiches have been well-received by customers, with the Original Chicken Sandwich in particular being a fan favorite. However, they have also been the subject of criticism, particularly in regards to their nutritional content.
