Claiborne County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,604. Its county seat is Port Gibson. The county is named after William Claiborne, the second governor of the Mississippi Territory.

Claiborne County is located in the southwestern part of Mississippi and is bordered by Warren County to the north, Hinds County to the northeast, Copiah County to the east, Jefferson County to the south, and Tensas Parish, Louisiana to the west.

As of the 2010 United States Census, there were 9,604 people living in the county. The racial makeup of the county was 84.4% Black, 13.5% White, 0.2% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.7% from other races, and 1.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.6% of the population.
