Clearwater County is a county located in the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 8,818. Its county seat is Bagley. Clearwater County is named after the Clearwater River.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Clearwater County is located in the northwestern part of Minnesota. The county has a total area of 1,030 square miles, of which 999 square miles is land and 31 square miles is water. The county's highest point is Itasca State Park's Aiton Heights, at 1,719 feet.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the 2020 census, there were 8,818 people, 3,330 households, and 2,235 families residing in the county. The population density was 8.8 inhabitants per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 85.7% White, 0.3% Black or African American, 11.1% Native American, 0.2% Asian, 0.1% from other races, and 2.6% from two or more races.
