Coffee cake is typically made using the creaming method, where butter and sugar are beaten together until light and fluffy before the other ingredients are added. The batter is then poured into a cake pan, topped with any desired toppings, and baked until golden brown.

Coffee cake is traditionally served warm and is often enjoyed with a cup of coffee, as the name suggests. It is a popular choice for breakfast or brunch, but can also be enjoyed as a dessert or snack.
