Coffey County, Kansas
Coffey County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 8,601. Its county seat is Burlington. The county was named in honor of Colonel A. M. Coffey, a prominent person in the early history of Kansas.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Coffey County is located in the eastern part of Kansas, with its county seat, Burlington, situated approximately 75 miles southwest of Kansas City. The county covers an area of 654 square miles, of which 628 square miles is land and 26 square miles is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the 2020 census, there were 8,601 people, 3,473 households, and 2,407 families residing in the county. The population density was 13.7 per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 96.7% White, 0.6% Black or African American, 0.8% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.5% from other races, and 1.1% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.3% of the population.

The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission and is a member of the Kansas Hospital Association.
Coffey County Medical Center The Coffey County Medical Center is a primary care clinic located in Burlington. It provides a variety of services, including family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, and women's health. The clinic is affiliated with the Coffey County Hospital.
Coffey County Public Health Coffey County Public Health provides a variety of public health services to the residents of Coffey County. Coffey County is served by U.S. Route 75 and Kansas Highways 31 and 58. The county also has a general aviation airport, Coffey County Airport, located 4 miles north of Burlington.
