The Commission on Higher Education (CHED; Filipino: Komisyon sa Lalong Mataas na Edukasyon) is a government agency under the Office of the President of the Philippines responsible for overseeing and regulating higher education institutions in the Philippines. It was established on May 18, 1994, through Republic Act No. 7722, also known as the "Higher Education Act of 1994."

  • Setting minimum standards for programs and institutions of higher learning.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of programs and institutions.
  • Identifying, supporting, and developing potential centers of excellence in higher education.
  • Rationalizing programs and institutions to ensure that they are aligned with national development goals.

Organizational Structure[edit | edit source]
