Conecuh County is a county located in the south central part of the U.S. state of Alabama. As of the 2010 census, the population was 13,228. Its county seat is Evergreen. Its name is believed to be derived from a Creek Indian term meaning "land of cane."
Geography[edit | edit source]
Conecuh County spans 853 square miles, with 850 square miles being land and 3.2 square miles being water. It is bordered by Butler County to the north, Covington County to the east, Escambia County to the south, and Monroe County to the west.

As of the 2010 census, there were 13,228 people, 5,228 households, and 3,537 families residing in the county. The racial makeup of the county was 66.3% White, 31.8% Black or African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.1% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 1.3% from two or more races.
