Gameplay[edit | edit source]
In Cookie Clicker, the player initially clicks on a large cookie on the screen, earning one cookie per click. As the player accumulates cookies, they can spend them on various items and upgrades that increase the rate of cookie production. These items include cursors, grandmas, farms, mines, factories, banks, temples, wizard towers, shipments, alchemy labs, portals, time machines, and antimatter condensers.
The game also features achievements and upgrades that provide additional bonuses and multipliers to cookie production. Players can also engage in mini-games and special events that further enhance gameplay.
Development[edit | edit source]
Cookie Clicker was developed by Julien Thiennot using JavaScript and HTML5. The game was initially released as a web browser game but has since been ported to other platforms, including Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.
Reception[edit | edit source]
Cookie Clicker has been praised for its addictive gameplay and has inspired numerous clones and parodies. The game has a dedicated fanbase and has been the subject of various memes and internet culture references.
