Cooperstown
Cooperstown is a village in Otsego County, New York, United States. It is best known as the home of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. The village is located at the southern tip of Otsego Lake and serves as the county seat of Otsego County.

Cooperstown was founded by William Cooper in the late 18th century. The village was named after Cooper, who was the father of the famous American author James Fenimore Cooper. The area was originally inhabited by the Iroquois before European settlers arrived.

Cooperstown is situated in the northern part of Otsego County. The village covers a total area of 1.6 square miles, with a significant portion of it being water due to its proximity to Otsego Lake. The Susquehanna River also originates from Otsego Lake, flowing southward through the village.
