Crockett County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2010 census, the population was 14,586. Its county seat is Alamo. The county was formed in 1871 from portions of Haywood and Madison counties. It is named in honor of David Crockett, frontier humorist, soldier, Tennessee state legislator and U.S. congressman, and defender of the Alamo.
