Custer County is a county located in the U.S. state of Montana. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 11,699. Its county seat is Miles City. The county was formed in 1865 and named in honor of General George Armstrong Custer.

Custer County is located in the southeastern part of Montana, with its northern border approximately 50 miles from the state's northern boundary. The county has a total area of 3,793 square miles, of which 3,783 square miles is land and 10 square miles is water.
