Cy Blanton (July 6, 1908 – September 13, 1945) was an American Major League Baseball (MLB) pitcher who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Philadelphia Phillies. Known for his exceptional control and curveball, Blanton was a prominent figure in baseball during the late 1930s and early 1940s.

Blanton was born in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He began his professional baseball career in the minor leagues before making his MLB debut.

Blanton made his MLB debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 21, 1934. He quickly established himself as a reliable pitcher, known for his control and ability to strike out batters. In 1935, Blanton had a breakout season, leading the National League in ERA with a 2.58 mark and earning a spot on the National League All-Star team.

Blanton's tenure with the Pittsburgh Pirates was marked by several standout seasons. In 1937, he again led the league in ERA and was selected for the All-Star Game. His performance helped the Pirates remain competitive in the National League during his time with the team.

In 1942, Blanton was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies. Although his performance declined due to injuries and age, he continued to contribute to the team until his retirement from MLB in 1942.
