DFMD
DFMD or Door Frame Metal Detector is a type of metal detector that is used to detect metallic objects on people passing through a detector. It is commonly used in airport security, prisons, and other locations where security is a concern.
Overview[edit | edit source]
The DFMD is a type of security equipment that is designed to detect metallic objects on a person's body. It is typically installed at the entrance of a building or a specific area to prevent unauthorized access or to ensure the safety of the people inside. The DFMD uses electromagnetic fields to detect the presence of metallic objects.
Working Principle[edit | edit source]
The working principle of a DFMD is based on the laws of electromagnetism. When a person passes through the DFMD, the electromagnetic field in the detector is disturbed. This disturbance is detected by the DFMD, which then triggers an alarm.
Types of DFMD[edit | edit source]
There are two main types of DFMDs: single-zone and multi-zone.
- Single-zone DFMDs detect the presence of metal, but they do not provide any information about the location of the metal on the person's body.
- Multi-zone DFMDs can detect the presence of metal and also provide information about the location of the metal on the person's body. This can be useful for security personnel in identifying where a potential threat is located.
Applications[edit | edit source]
DFMDs are used in a variety of settings for security purposes. Some of the most common applications include:
- Airport security: DFMDs are commonly used in airports to detect metallic objects on passengers before they board a plane.
- Prisons: DFMDs are used in prisons to prevent inmates from smuggling weapons or other contraband.
- Courthouses: DFMDs are used in courthouses to ensure the safety of the people inside.
- Concert venues: DFMDs are used at concert venues to prevent attendees from bringing in weapons or other prohibited items.
