Day spa
Day Spa is a business establishment which people visit for professionally administered personal care treatments such as massages and facials. It is similar to a beauty salon in that it is only visited for the duration of the treatment. In contrast, a destination spa offers the same services in a hotel setting where people reside for one or more days.

The concept of a spa dates back to ancient times when people would bathe in hot or cold springs in the hope of effecting a cure of some ailment. The modern day spa is a direct offshoot of these ancient practices.

Day spas offer a variety of services for the purpose of improving health, beauty and relaxation through personal care treatments such as hair, massages and facials. A day spa is different from a beauty salon in that it contains facilities like a sauna, pool, steam room, or whirlpool that guests may use in addition to their treatment.
