Delese Mimi Darko
Delese Mimi Darko is a renowned pharmacologist and the current Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Food and Drugs Authority (FDA). She has been instrumental in the development and implementation of various policies and regulations in the field of pharmacology and public health in Ghana.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Delese Mimi Darko was born and raised in Ghana. She pursued her early education in the country before moving abroad for her higher studies. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana, and a Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of London, UK.
Career[edit | edit source]
Darko began her career as a pharmacist in Ghana. She later joined the Ghana FDA, where she has served in various capacities over the years. She was appointed as the CEO of the FDA in 2017, becoming the first woman to hold this position.
As the CEO of the FDA, Darko has been responsible for the regulation and control of the manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, use and advertisement of food, drugs, cosmetics, medical devices, and chemicals. She has also played a key role in the development of the National Drug Policy for Ghana.

She has been involved in the development and implementation of various policies and regulations related to drug safety, quality assurance, and public health. She has also been instrumental in promoting the rational use of medicines in Ghana.
