Dennis DeYoung
Dennis DeYoung (born February 18, 1947) is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. He is best known as a founding member of the rock band Styx, where he served as the lead vocalist and keyboardist. DeYoung's career with Styx spanned from the band's inception in 1970 until his departure in 1999.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Dennis DeYoung was born in Chicago, Illinois. He began his musical career at a young age, playing the accordion and later transitioning to keyboards. DeYoung attended Chicago State University, where he studied music and education.
Career with Styx[edit | edit source]
DeYoung co-founded Styx with his neighbors, the Panozzo brothers, Chuck and John. The band initially gained popularity in the 1970s with their progressive rock sound. DeYoung was a key contributor to the band's success, writing and singing many of their hit songs.

Dennis DeYoung is married to Suzanne Feusi, whom he met in high school. The couple has two children. DeYoung continues to perform and tour, both as a solo artist and occasionally with other former members of Styx.
