Doggles

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Doggles are a type of protective eyewear designed specifically for dogs. They are similar to sunglasses for humans, but are designed to fit the shape of a dog's head. In addition to blocking UV rays, they also protect the dog's eyes from wind and debris.

History[edit | edit source]

The concept of Doggles was first introduced by Ken and Roni di Lullo in 1997. The couple noticed that their dog, Midknight, was sensitive to sunlight and decided to design a pair of protective goggles for him. The product was initially met with skepticism, but has since gained popularity and is now sold in over 16 countries.

Design[edit | edit source]

Doggles are made with a wrap-around design to ensure a close fit on the dog's face. They are typically made with shatter-proof, anti-fog lenses and have an adjustable strap to secure the goggles on the dog's head. Some models also include a chin strap for additional security.

Uses[edit | edit source]

Doggles are primarily used to protect a dog's eyes from the sun's harmful UV rays. They can also be used to protect the dog's eyes during activities that could potentially result in eye injuries, such as running through tall grass or playing fetch. In addition, Doggles are often used by working dogs, such as police dogs and search and rescue dogs, to protect their eyes while on the job.
