Donatos Pizza is an American pizza delivery restaurant chain headquartered in Gahanna, Ohio. It was founded in 1963 by Jim Grote. The chain has grown to include over 200 locations in several states, primarily in the Midwest.

Donatos Pizza was established in 1963 when Jim Grote purchased a small pizza shop in Columbus, Ohio for $1,300. The name "Donatos" is derived from the Latin word "donatus," which means "to give a good thing." The company is known for its thin-crust pizza, which is cut into square pieces, and its edge-to-edge toppings.
In 1999, Donatos was acquired by McDonald's Corporation, which aimed to expand the brand nationally. However, in 2003, Jim Grote and his daughter, Jane Grote Abell, repurchased the company from McDonald's.
