Dragan Jočić
Dragan Jočić (born August 7, 1960) is a Serbian politician who served as the Minister of Internal Affairs from 2004 to 2008. He is a member of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS).
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Dragan Jočić was born in Belgrade, which was then part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. He completed his primary and secondary education in Belgrade. Jočić graduated from the University of Belgrade Faculty of Law, where he earned his law degree.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Jočić began his political career as a member of the Democratic Party of Serbia. He held various positions within the party before being appointed as the Minister of Internal Affairs in 2004. During his tenure, he worked under the administration of Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica and President Boris Tadić.
Minister of Internal Affairs[edit | edit source]
As the Minister of Internal Affairs, Jočić was responsible for overseeing the police and internal security of Serbia. His term was marked by efforts to reform the police force and improve internal security measures. He served in this capacity until 2008, when he was succeeded by Ivica Dačić.
Personal Life[edit | edit source]
Dragan Jočić is married and has two children. He continues to be active in Serbian politics and is involved in various legal and political activities.
