Drinking establishment is a business whose primary function is the retail sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises. Some establishments may also provide food services, entertainment, and other amenities.

Pub[edit | edit source]

Tavern[edit | edit source]

A tavern is a place of business where people gather to drink alcoholic beverages and, more often than not, also be served food. The word derives from the Latin taberna and the Greek taverna, whose original meaning was a shed or workshop.

Nightclub[edit | edit source]

A nightclub is a drinking establishment that also serves as an entertainment venue. Nightclubs often feature music, dancing, and other forms of live entertainment, and are typically open late into the night.
