Drishyam 2
Drishyam 2 is a 2021 Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller film written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. It is a sequel to the 2013 film Drishyam. The film stars Mohanlal reprising his role from the first film, along with Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil in the lead roles. The film was produced by Antony Perumbavoor through the company Aashirvad Cinemas.
Plot[edit | edit source]
The story picks up six years after the events of Drishyam. Georgekutty, played by Mohanlal, is now a successful businessman who owns a cinema theatre. His family, consisting of his wife Rani (played by Meena) and daughters Anju (played by Ansiba Hassan) and Anu (played by Esther Anil), is still haunted by the events of the past.
The plot thickens when new evidence emerges, and the police reopen the investigation into the disappearance of Varun Prabhakar, the son of IGP Geetha Prabhakar (played by Asha Sarath). Georgekutty must once again use his wit and intelligence to protect his family from the law.

The film was announced in 2020, with Jeethu Joseph returning as the director and writer. The principal photography began in September 2020 and was completed in November 2020. The film was shot primarily in Thodupuzha, Kerala.

Drishyam 2 was released on Amazon Prime Video on 19 February 2021. The film received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, praising the screenplay, direction, and performances, particularly that of Mohanlal.

The film was well-received for its engaging narrative and the performance of the cast. Critics appreciated the film for maintaining the suspense and thrill of the original while introducing new elements to the story.
