History[edit | edit source]

Drug Fair began its operations in 1954, with its first store located in New Jersey. The chain quickly expanded throughout the state, becoming a well-known name in the pharmacy industry. Drug Fair was known for its commitment to providing high-quality pharmaceutical care and a wide range of products, including prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, and health and wellness products.

In 2009, Drug Fair filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and sold most of its stores to Walgreens, a leading pharmacy chain in the United States. The remaining stores were closed, marking the end of the Drug Fair brand.

Services[edit | edit source]

Drug Fair offered a variety of services to its customers. These included prescription filling, health consultations, and the sale of over-the-counter drugs and health and wellness products. The chain was also known for its customer service, with trained pharmacists available to provide advice and guidance on medication use.

Impact[edit | edit source]

Despite its closure, Drug Fair had a significant impact on the pharmacy industry in New Jersey. It was one of the first pharmacy chains in the state and set a standard for customer service and product range in the industry. The chain's closure also had a significant impact on the local economy, with many employees losing their jobs and many communities losing a vital health resource.
