Duff Goldman, born Jeffrey Adam Goldman on December 17, 1974, is an American pastry chef and television personality. He gained fame as the executive chef of Charm City Cakes, a bakery located in Baltimore, Maryland. Goldman is best known for his appearances on the Food Network reality TV show Ace of Cakes.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Goldman was born in Detroit, Michigan, and grew up in a Jewish family. He developed an interest in cooking and baking at a young age, often helping his mother in the kitchen. After graduating from high school, Goldman attended the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), where he studied history and philosophy.

Career[edit | edit source]

After completing his studies at UMBC, Goldman decided to pursue a career in the culinary arts. He enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, where he honed his skills in pastry and baking. Upon graduating, Goldman worked at several renowned restaurants and bakeries, including the French Laundry in California and the Vail Cascade Hotel in Colorado.

In 2000, Goldman returned to Baltimore and opened his own bakery, Charm City Cakes. The bakery quickly gained a reputation for its unique and elaborate cake designs. Goldman and his team became known for their ability to create custom cakes that resembled anything from cars to animals to famous landmarks.

Television Career[edit | edit source]

Goldman's rise to fame began when he was approached by the Food Network to star in a reality TV show centered around his bakery. The show, Ace of Cakes, premiered in 2006 and ran for 10 seasons. It showcased the behind-the-scenes workings of Charm City Cakes and the creative process behind their intricate cake designs.

In addition to Ace of Cakes, Goldman has made numerous guest appearances on other Food Network shows, such as Iron Chef America and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. He has also served as a judge on various baking competitions, including Holiday Baking Championship and Kids Baking Championship.

Goldman is known for his vibrant personality and unique sense of style, often sporting colorful and eccentric outfits. He is also an avid musician and plays bass guitar in a band called "Soihadto".
