Dundy County is a county located in the U.S. state of Nebraska. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,008. Its county seat is Benkelman. The county was named after a judge, Elmer Scipio Dundy.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Dundy County is located in the southwestern part of Nebraska, with its southern edge bordering the state of Kansas. The county has a total area of 921 square miles, of which 920 square miles is land and 1.1 square miles is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the 2010 census, there were 2,008 people, 864 households, and 579 families residing in the county. The population density was 2.2 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the county was 97.6% White, 0.2% Black or African American, 0.4% Native American, 0.3% Asian, 0.5% from other races, and 1.0% from two or more races. 1.9% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
