East Stroudsburg is a borough in Monroe County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is located in the Pocono Mountains region of the state. As of the 2020 census, the borough had a population of 10,333.

East Stroudsburg was originally known as "Dansbury," named after an early settler, Daniel Brodhead. The name was changed to East Stroudsburg in 1870 when the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad opened a station in the area. The borough was incorporated in the same year.

As of the 2020 census, there were 10,333 people residing in the borough. The population density was 3,563.1 people per square mile. The racial makeup of the borough was diverse, with a significant percentage of the population being of Hispanic or Latino origin.
