Ephraim Acker
Ephraim Acker was an American politician and physician who served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the United States House of Representatives. He was born on January 11, 1827, in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and died on May 12, 1903.

Ephraim Acker was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He pursued an education in medicine and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1848. After completing his medical degree, he began practicing as a physician in Norristown, Pennsylvania.
Political Career[edit | edit source]
Acker's political career began at the local level, where he was actively involved in community affairs. He was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1852, where he served for several terms. His work in the state legislature was marked by his advocacy for public health and education reforms.
In 1862, Acker was elected as a Democrat to the United States House of Representatives, representing Pennsylvania's 6th congressional district. During his tenure in Congress, he focused on issues such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure development. He served in the House until 1864.
