- Etowah is a city located in McMinn County, Tennessee, United States. It was founded in 1906, primarily as a location for a depot on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad line. The city is part of the Athens Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Knoxville-Morristown-Sevierville Combined Statistical Area.
