Evolution Fresh
Evolution Fresh is a subsidiary of Starbucks Corporation that specializes in producing fruit juices, fruit smoothies, gourmet soups, salads, and signature bowls. The company was founded by Jimmy Rosenberg in 1984 in Malibu, California, and was later acquired by Starbucks in 2011.
History[edit | edit source]
Jimmy Rosenberg, the founder of Evolution Fresh, started his journey in the juice industry with the establishment of the Juice Club in the 1980s, which later evolved into Jamba Juice. After leaving the Juice Club, Rosenberg founded Evolution Fresh in 1984. The company was initially a small juice shop in Malibu, California, but it quickly gained popularity due to its unique cold-pressed juice extraction process.
In 2011, Starbucks Corporation acquired Evolution Fresh for $30 million, marking Starbucks' entry into the $3.4 billion cold-pressed juice market. Starbucks expanded the distribution of Evolution Fresh products to its coffee shops and grocery stores across the United States.
Products[edit | edit source]
Evolution Fresh offers a wide range of products, including fruit juices, fruit smoothies, gourmet soups, salads, and signature bowls. The company is known for its cold-pressed juice extraction process, which helps to retain the flavors and nutrients of the fruits and vegetables used in their products. Some of their popular products include the Organic Super Fruit Greens juice, Organic Defense Up juice, and the Organic Green Devotion juice.
Cold-Pressed Process[edit | edit source]
The cold-pressed process used by Evolution Fresh involves crushing fruits and vegetables and then pressing them to extract the juice. This process is different from the traditional centrifugal juicing method, which generates heat and can destroy some of the nutrients in the fruits and vegetables. The cold-pressed process allows Evolution Fresh to retain more of the natural flavors and nutrients in their products.
